As we near the end of another year, I always enjoy church leaders who blog about their favorite books of the year. Here are a few of my favorite lists:

“My Top Five Books of 2015” by Matthew Morine. Matthew preaches for the Castle Rock Church of Christ in Castle Rock, Colorado. He seems to read a lot in the areas of leadership in ministry.

“Top Ten Books of 2015” by Kevin DeYoung. DeYoung is a conservative evangelical who is an avid reader and writer. I almost always benefit from reading him, so his thoughts about reading are always helpful.

“My Top Books of 2015” by Tim Challies. Challies, whose book on productivity I recommended last week, is another young evangelical whose perspective I almost always appreciate.

“Top 15 Books of 2015” by Tony Reinke. Bonus: he gives his top books from previous years as well.

Interested in reading more in 2016? You might be interested in Tim Challies’ 2016 Reading Challenge. It’s an interesting thought, and he’s got options for Light Readers, Avid Readers, Committed Readers, and Obsessed Readers. And, if you want to be like D.A. Carson and read 500 books in a year (what???), take a look at this.

Here’s a new blog I ran across this week: ScribblePreach. He’s got some pretty good links on there, including one about responding to critics of Christianity who often play the “But what about the Crusades?” card. There are also some articles about writing, preaching, productivity, etc.

“It’s not hard to preach. But humanly impossible to do it right.” Joe McKeever’s blogs always help me.
